Personal Message on Covid19 Pandemic

People around the world are facing pandemic of Covid19. Here in our beloved country Indonesia, the number of new cases is increasing. In less than 20 days, total of Covid19 case has reached the number of 227. It has been a little bit frustrating and stressful honestly, because the virus is very contagious, and anyone can get infected so easily (even when you have good immune system). So I pretty much understand if many people start to panic. We all are not prepared for this.

As a medical doctor (who currently studying Internal Medicine), I consider myself as group of high risk people to get infected from patients with Covid19, just like the other healthcare professional who stay at work even when other places around world are being locked down. As a healthcare professional, I suggest people on my Instagram to do Social Distancing, to help slowing down new infection of Covid19, because if people are being unconcerned about this, then more than thousands even millions of people around the world are getting higher risk of infection. 

What is Social Distancing? I believe that most people have googled it and understand the definition. Social distancing means remaining out of concrete settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible. Because this virus is an airborne disease, social distancing will actually help the world to slow down even limit the infection.

Social distancing actually is not the only way to limit the new infection. We can also protect ourself and family by keeping our personal hygiene good, and routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces. I right now suggest everyone to pray for protection and health from God (we are only human after all, even the doctors, nurses, and our government are just humans). I personally pray that this Covid19 pandemic will soon be over, and everything will go back to normal. Don't forget to eat healthy balanced food, stay hydrated, also do not panic. Seek information about Covid19 from professional or official sources only.
